Types of headache
Cluster headache: It is often described as severe, sharp, penetrating, or burning on one side of the head around the eye area but may radiate to other areas of your face, head, or neck. When it onsets it occurs every day, sometimes several times a day over a period of weeks or months.
Migraine: An intense throbbing or a pulsing sensation in one side of the head. The pain can last for hours to days.
Tension headache: It is generally a diffuse, constant, and mild to moderate pain in one side all over the head that's often described as feeling like a tight band around the head. It motivates dizziness and sore muscles with trigger points in the neck and upper back.
Hypertension headache: A generalized dull pain that affects a large area of the head and becomes worse by movement or exertion.
Fever headache: Both fever and pain due to inflammation of blood vessels of the head.
Arthritis headache: Pain at the back of the head or neck that aggravates by movement.
Exertion headache: A generalized headache during or after physical exertion such as running or passive exertion such as coughing.
Hangover headache: A pain like a migraine.
Caffeine headache: A throbbing pain due to blood vessel dilation.
Sinus headache: A worrying pain over the sinus area. It is due to swelling in the sinus passages behind the cheeks, nose, and eyes. The pain aggravates when you bend forward and as the day goes by.
Eyestrain headache: A frontal pain in both areas.
Menstrual headache: A pain like a migraine before, during, or after menstruation.
Temporal headache: A burning, jabbing pain in the temple or around-ear on chewing.
Tumor headaches: A progressively worsening pain followed by problems with vision, speech, and equilibrium.
